M. Lauren Mathews
Ms. Mathews graduated from Arizona State University and received her law degree from Baylor University School of Law with a specialization in litigation. At Baylor, she was the first woman ever to be elected President of the Law School.
She began her career in the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office in Waco, Texas then served as a Judicial Clerk for Chief Justice Bob L. Thomas at the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. Before opening the Mathews Law Firm, Ms. Mathews honed her trial skills while an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas where she practiced in state and federal courts. Ms. Mathews also has experience in Business and Contract Law.
With her extensive trial experience, Ms. Mathews has earned the reputation of an aggressive advocate for her clients and a successful leader in alternative dispute resolutions. With more than 15 years of experience representing people in the courtroom, Ms. Mathews possesses the skills, knowledge and wisdom to make the law work for her clients.
Ms. Mathews is licensed to practice law in Texas, Arizona, all the Federal Courts in the state of Texas and in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is one of only a handful of attorneys in the country given the distinction of being admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Mathews is an active member of the Austin Bar Association, Travis County Women Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Texas, Family Law Section in which she serves on the Board of Directors.
Vanessa Jenray
Vanessa Jenray, Senior Paralegal at the Mathews Law Firm, graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she began her legal career working with civil litigation and criminal defense before practicing Family Law.
As the Senior Paralegal, Ms. Jenray oversees the daily operations of the Mathews Law Firm and is often the first resource and primary contact for clients.
Ms. Jenray is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas, and the Capital Area Paralegal Association.
